If you’ve dined at Esplanade’s Supply & Demand and thoroughly enjoyed its Italian fare and the mouth-watering, yet elusive focaccia made in-house, you have chef-owner Wu Si Han to thank. The 31-year-old, who honed his craft at Sky on 57 and Singapore’s then-only three Michelin Starred Restaurant Joël Robuchon fine dining, is the first Singaporean Gaggenau culinary partner. He joins the ranks of illustrious chefs like Ivan Brehm and Stephen Zoisl – both based in Singapore.

Chef Wu’s culinary journey began in his Peranakan-Hokkien household, where he was introduced to the delectable flavours of Nonya and Hokkien cuisine. This early exposure laid the foundation for his unwavering passion for food.
For Chef Wu, cooking is not just a job; it’s a creative outlet. He firmly believes in the endless possibilities that different ingredients offer, allowing him to craft a myriad of recipes. He remains open-minded and constantly explores new cooking methods, especially during his travels.

Quality produce plays a pivotal role in Chef Wu’s culinary philosophy, fuelling his experimentation with innovative dishes. He relies on ingredients sourced locally from Singaporean suppliers and seasonally from other countries. This commitment to excellence also furthers his proclivity for high quality kitchen appliances, ensuring culinary consistency.
At home, Chef Wu relies on Gaggenau appliances to maintain the same precision and consistency he delivers in professional kitchens. Having a full Gaggenau kitchen at his disposal empowers him to create artisanal dishes with ease. The Home Connect function’s smart features enable him to efficiently control his Gaggenau appliances with a simple tap on his phone, ensuring the perfect cooking results every time.

With 340 years of creating superior gastronomic experiences, Gaggenau remains committed to supporting artisans who strive for excellence in their field. This mutual dedication to innovation, precision and excellence is what makes Chef Wu the ideal spokesperson for Gaggenau. Do not let his good looks and reserved character fool you of his culinary prowess!
